At the end of January DBN made a significant change: enlarging its membership to become a large world-wide Federation of Salesian NGO. The Founding members of DBN: “International Volunteer Movement for Development” (Italia), “Dmos-Comide” (Belgium), “Jugend Dritte Welt” (Germany), “Jovenes y Desarrollo” (Spain), Salesian Missions” (United States), “Noi per Loro” (Italy), have now been joined by “Mlodzie Swietu” from Poland, “Solidaridad Don Bosco” from Spain and “Savio” from Slovakia.
The members of the new Federal Board are: President Mrs Françoise Lčonard (Dmos-COMIDE), Vice President Bro. Jean Paul Muller, (Jugend Dritte Welt), Treasurer Mr. Francesco Alicicco (Noi per Loro) and elected Board members Fr. Mark Hyde (Salesian Missions) and Fr Isaac Diez (Jovenes y Desarrollo); Ex officio Member: Fr. Vaclav Klement (SDB) Councillor for the Missions.
Don Bosco Network (DBN) is a worldwide federation of Salesian development NGOs whose vision, mission and actions are based on the values and principles expressed by the Salesian tradition of solidarity with the poor; education based on the preventive system; education as a fundamental human right that is not limited to the intellectual development and professional qualification of children and young people: it enhances the development of the individual as a whole; youth are the protagonists of their personal development through education which is oriented towards social transformation and the promotion of justice. as it enhances the people’s ability to dialogue, seek and promote social justice.
Its strategic and operational fields are: policy building and general coordination of the activities of associated members; lobbying / advocacy; training and education; communication. The DBN Headquarters are in Rome at via Marsala.
