26/3/2010 - Spain - “Qualificat” for the schools of Sarriá, Sant Vicenç and Terrassa

(ANS – Barcelona) – The Salesian schools of Sarriá, Sant Vicenç and Terrassa have been incorporated in the “Qualifícat” programme  which enables them to give official recognition to the technical skills acquired in their workshops. The official presentation of the diploma was made on 16 March by Ernest Maragall, Councillor for Education in Catalonia

The “Qualifícat” programme of Catalonia is intended to provide those who successfully follow courses to acquire technical skills official recognition and a formal qualification for their place in the work force.

The Salesian Technical Vocational Training schools in Sarriá, Sant Vicenç and Terrassa are part of a group of public Institutions and recognised schools given authorisation to grant this qualification. In addition to its being pubished in the Official Gazette, an event was organised at which the conferral of the authorisation and the corresponding diplomas took place in the Cosmo-Caixa auditorium.

The Rector of the Salesian in Sarriá, Fr Jordi Lleixà, was invited to explain on behalf of the school the importance of this programme for the schools and the workers of Catalonia.
