The event took place in the presence of the major civic dignitaries and invited representatives of 27 centres of vocational training in the Province which are responsible for educating over 6,700 students.
Representing the Salesian Centre in Pamplona were Fr Jorge Lanchas, Director of Studies and Fr Igancio María Lete the Rector representing the whole Educative Salesian Community.
Following the report given by the Councillor for Education, Dr. Alberto Catalán, every Centre received a commemorative certificate of the Day. The Salesians of Pamplona and the Directors of the Centres of Industrial Technical Education of Tudela were publicly thanked. The Salesian Centre was the first such Institute to offer Vocational Training in Navarre, in 1927.
“Navarre Day” concluded with the words of Dr. Miguel Sanz, President of the Local Government.
The local press and media gave ample covergae to the event emphasising the importance vocational training has had and continued to have in the industrial development of Navarre.
