Spain – The III European Congress on the Salesian School and Vocational Training Centre about to start |
RMG – Rethinking Salesian Youth Ministry |
In the course of the meeting attended also by Fr Fabio Attard and Sr Maria Carmen Canales, respectively the Councillors for Youth Ministry of the Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, proposals were agreed regarding the methodology to be used and the contents of the programme of the Congress as well as certain responsibilities and details of the agenda and the timetable.
The Congress at Sanlùcar, organised by the respective Youth Ministry Departments of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians will have three main focal points: a new educational paradigm, the profile of the educator in Salesian schools and vocational training centres, and thirdly a proposal for the formation of Salesian educators in schools.
The theme of the Congress: “the profile of the Salesian educator in Europe,” is a follow-up to the two previous ones, the first in Rome in 2001, “Salesian School/Vocational Training who are you, where are you going?”, and the second in Krakow in 2005, “The identity card of the Salesian School”. It is hoped therefore that the February meeting starting from the identity card of the Salesian School will be able to define the profile of the Salesian educator in the old continent.
About 250 educators are expected at Sanlùcar, from schools and vocational training centres, religious and lay people, managers, teachers and tutors. Among those providing input will be various experts from the fields of schools and universities, religious and lay, ecclesiastical and civil.
Shortly on the internet there will be a site both providing more detailed information and the possibility of booking for the Congress.
