The previous five Provinces and have organised into two juridical circumscriptions: one with headquarters in Còrdoba, the other with headquarters in Buenos Aires, which will come into existence on 31 January 2010.
The Province of North Argentina will include the present Provinces of Còrdoba and Rosario, and will be dedicated to “Blessed Artemides Zatti” (ARN); that of the South will bring together the Provinces of Buenos Aires, Bahia Blanca and La Plata and will be called the “Blessed Zephyrinus Namuncurá” Province.
In addition, with his Council, Fr Chávez has appointed the two Superiors who will guide the new Provinces.
Fr Manuel Eduardo Cayo, born in General Roca 43 years ago will be the Superior of the ARN Province. After having made his first religious profession on 31 January 1986, he was ordained priest on 3 June 1995. Among the various offices he has held in the Bahia Blanca Province, since 1 February 2008 Fr Cayo has been Provincial Delegate for Formation.
The first Provincial of ARS will be Fr Angel Fernandez Artime, 49 years of age and Superior of the Province of León, Spain, between 2000 and 2006. Born in Spain at Gozon-Luaco, he made his first Salesian profession on 3 September 1978.
The two Provincials will be installed on the day the new circumscriptions come into existence on 31 January 2010 by the Rector Major who will go to Argentina for the occasion.
