RMG – GC26: A Brother is the new Economer General of the Salesians |
While staying at the Generalate and in the Salesianum in Rome, this morning the 19 Economers from various Provinces listened to Brother Claudio Marangio, Economer General, speak on the subject: “The Identity and the Role of the Provincial Economer.”
The course which will end on 25 May is divided into two main parts. The first taking place in Rome until Thursday 21 May, will involve a series of talks and group work including discussions and practical exercises. This will be followed between 22 and 24 May by a pilgrimage to Turin, to the Salesian special places coinciding with the Feast of Mary Help of Christians.
Topics on the agenda, in addition to those considered by Bro Claudio Marangio, regard the Provincial Balance Sheet and Financial Report, the analysis of the Administrative Management of a Province, dealings with the Economer’s Office in Rome and relations with Salesian Missions. On Wednesday 21 May Fr Adriano Bregolin will speak on “Elements of religious discipline in the administration and management of goods.”
This is the first course during the six-year period following the 26th General Chapter and the election of the new Economer General, Brother Claudio Marangio. The next is planned for February 2010.
