The casket, which began its pilgrimage on 25 April, stopped for a day at the Poor Clares’ Monastery in Pieve and then after a short stop at Tarquinia, arrived on 27 April at Civitavecchia where kit was welcomed by the Bishop Carlo Chenis SDB.

The site www.missionidonbosco.tv is building up day by day short video records of the casket’s pilgrimage.

Between 1and 3 May at the Salesian House in Cinecittà, Rome, there will be a Youth Forum for the “Sacred Heart” Special Circumscription of Central Italy (ICC): a gathering of young people from the schools, oratories, vocational training centres of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in central Italy.

Expected at the Forum on the afternoon of 1 May are the Rector Major of the Salesians and the Minister for Youth Mrs Giorgia Meloni, who will hold discussions with the young people. This and other events will be broadcast in streaming on www.missionidonbosco.tv and on Telepace.

• 1 May – between 17.30 and 19.00 (GMT+1) The Rector Major Fr Pascual Chávez meets the young
• 2 May – between 20.45 and 23.55 (GMT+1) Concert with the young in the Saint John Bosco Square
• 3 May - at 12.50 (GMT+1), a recording of the Solemn Concelebration in the Basilica of “Saint John Bosco”  at which Fr Alberto Lorenzelli, ICC Provincial will preside

After exactly 50 years the Basilica of  Saint John Bosco in Rome welcomes for the second time  the casket of the Saint of Youth. In 1959, on the occasion of the consecration of the Temple on 2 May, the casket with the mortal remains of Don Bosco arrived in Rome where it stayed until 12 May.
