(ANS - Chennai: 4th January 2007) - The folk festival on the 30th December evening was a lively agenda of cultural performances from the scouts and guides representing the whole of India in all its cultural richness and grandeur.
Fr. Dominic Sequeira, the delegate from Rome was the chief guest for the occasion. Troupes of Guides and Scouts from 15 Salesian Centres offered performances for the evening. Fr Dominic highlighted the Rector Major`s 2007 Strenna in his address to the assembled thousands and exhorted all to appreciate the great gift of life and to live it in solidarity with all human beings, especially the weak. The evening was a fitting tribute to this message and underlined the theme of the 10th Boscoree: in harmony with the Creator and creation.
