The President of the Region of Lviv, Dr. Mykola Kmit presided at the ceremony held on 12 December.
The Honour given to Fr Chaban was also in recognition of the work carried out by the Salesians of the Byzantine-Ukraine Rite Delegation of the Special East Europe Circumscription on behalf of poor and needy youngsters who are often lacking in the affection and care of a family.
