| Italy – A concert for street children |
Italian and foreign singers will be performing on the stage during the concert, which will be hosted by Massimo Giletti and Sonia Grey and broadcast by RAIUNO together with a special recording on 28 June at 16.05 (GMT+1); it will also be broadcast by RAI International.
The event entitled “Concert for Street Children”, is intended also to draw attention to a solidarity campaign for street children in Haiti and especially for the “Foyer-Lakay” project organised by Salesian missionaries who are aiming to provide accommodation and care for at least 300 street children in Port-au-Prince giving them a home, a school and work.
In fact between 23 and 29 June a telephone line with the number – 48566 – will be open for donations - 1 euro from a Tim mobile and 2 euro from a Telecom Italia fixed line.
On the day of the concert 23 June there will be a press conference in the late morning in the Turin City Hall at which the concert and the whole project of “Foyer-Lakay” will be introduced. Fr Attilio Stra SDB who has worked in Haiti for a number of years will also be taking part.
