(ANS – Madrid) – Salesian educational centres are taking part in the International Education Fair, Aula 2008, which is running from 2 to 6 April at the IFEMA in Madrid.

The Salesian Sisters and the Salesians from the central region of Spain have an exhibition area of 90 square metres in which visitors can see what the two congregations offer at every level of education.

On the stall, entitled ‘Your education is our business’, there is specific information about Professional Training where Salesian centres answer the needs of young people who want to be professionally involved in the world of work.

There is also information about the Don Bosco Higher Education Centre, which offers seven diplomas in Teaching and Social Education, and a licentiate in Educational Psychology. The Don Bosco Higher Education Centre, affiliated to the Universidad Complutense, combines academic rigour with human and Christian formation in an atmosphere of sharing between teachers and students, following the style and spirit of Don Bosco.

Education for leisure also has a space on the Salesian stall, with presentations about the CENSA and Don Bosco schools where youth workers and coordinators are prepared for working with children and young people.

The Federations of the the social platforms of the Salesian PINARDI and the FMA Valsé Foundations are presenting their social education programmes for young people at risk. With demonstrations of juggling, sword fighting, paper folding, drama, music and creative arts, they are helping the public to understand the familiar approach which is typical of Salesian educational centres.

Aula is an international fair for students and educational organisations which takes place each year in the Juan Carlos I exhibition centre in Madrid. Last year’s fair was attended by 130,426 young people, educators, tutors and parents.
