Present at the Assembly attended by about 750 people, was Bishop András Veres, of Szombathely, who presided at the Mass. In his homily, the Bishop emphasised the importance of the Salesian pedagogical system and stressed the unconditional acceptance of youngsters, religious faith as the foundation of education and great trust in the Virgin Mary. Bishop Veres praised the Salesians for their work of everyday and encouraged them to continue overcoming all difficulties.
At the end of the celebration Fr Jozsef Havasi, Provincial of the Salesians in Hungary presented the “Don Bosco Award” to one of the Salesians-Cooperators for her outstanding service in the field of Salesian education. The festivities ended with a lively and colourful entertainment programme in which the various Salesian houses in the Province collaborated.
