27/9/2007 - Argentina - “Don Bosco” wines and oil win two international competitions

(ANS – Mendoza) – In the San Rafael District in the Province of Mendoza, “Vinus 2007” and “Olivinus 2007”, two international wine and oil competitions have just been held between 2 and 6 September. Taking part were 800 winemakers and 154 oilmakers from 29 countries: Chile, Uruguay, Perú, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, United States, Canada, South Africa, Israel, Lebanon, Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Greece, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Austria, Hungary and, naturally, Argentina.

In the “Vinus 2007” competition the  Lambrusco Maestri and the Licoroso from the “Bodega Don Bosco” in Rodeo del Medio received the Silver Medal with 89,5 points, - 90 were needed for the Gold Medal.

In the “Olivinus 2007” the Don Bosco Blend Oil received the Gold Medal in the competition. The International Committee, composed of expert enologists, writers and jounalists awarded a special prize to the “Don Bosco” Salesian House in honour of  Fr Francisco Origlia SDB, as the “best educator of enology in the XXth century.” This was the third award from the International Commitee.
