(ANS - Jerez de la Frontera) - The Proyecto Don Bosco Foundation, supported by the Salesian Community of Manuel Lora Tamayo and with the support of the Government of Andalusia, inaugurated two floors of a building to house boys in the area of Pago Serrana in Jerez de la Frontera, " The initiative is part of "Project Garelli" through which the Foundation seeks to respond to different youth situations that need special attention.
The two floors will accommodate a total of 12 young people, aged between 18 and 23. It was the morning of 4 February when Antonio, Michael, Mostafa Hamza and Abderramán attended the blessing and the official opening of what will be their home for the next twelve months. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, Fr Antonio Fernando García, Rector of Manuel Lora Tamayo community, spoke. He stressed the commitment of the educative and pastoral community.
Later, José Luis Aguirre Macías brought greetings to all present from the Provincial and the General Director of the Foundation. He stressed the fruit of seven years of hard work: they now have twenty-two floors with nearly a hundred boys looked after under the roof of the Don Bosco house. In this development a fundamental factor was the support received from public and private institutions, people who bet on the work of the Salesians, friends of Don Bosco and various associations.
José Antonio Mengual, Local Director of the Foundation, expressed gratitude to the Salesian Community, highlighting their concern and generosity, and their readiness always to meet the needs as they arise.
After other speeches, the building was blessed by Fr Fernando García and all present were able to visit the two new floors used to house young people.
