South Sudan – Don Bosco Gumbo Summer Camp 2015 |
Chile – The Salesian charism is alive |
Argentina – The “Exploradores de Don Bosco” are 100 years old. |
(ANS - Ensenada) – In the whole of Salesian Argentina, there are many activities for children, teenagers and young people during the summer months. One of the most widespread and popular youth movements is called Exploradores de Don Bosco. Together with the summer camps, it attracts thousands of young people all around the country.
Another important activity this summer was the meeting of Campobosco with the motto: "If I want to be like Jesus, I must be merciful." From 4 to 9 January at the Salesian House of Campodónico, there was a huge youth camp called precisely Campobosco. It involved dozens of young people and leaders who worked together to practise four works of mercy: comfort the afflicted, forgive offences, bear wrongs patiently and pray for everyone, living and dead.
According to the young people, it was "a week of paradise”. They were able to attend catechism classes, participate in games, learn crafts, visit a riding school for horse riding, go fishing at Tapalqué ... and enjoy so many more beautiful experiences that at the end they did not want to go home.
All this was possible thanks to the hard work done by the leaders throughout the year, accompanying these young people and others who, even if they could not participate on this occasion, attend the Salesian Oratory and experience this reality daily.
