(ANS - Milan) – These are days of change and important initiatives in the National Centre for Salesian Works – Vocational and Professional Training (CNOS-FAP). Fr Enrico Peretti was recently appointed as the new Director General. Next Tuesday at Expo 2015 there will be a series of debates and panel discussions on the theme of alternating school and work.

Fr Enrico Peretti succeeds Fr Mario Tonini, who assumes the role of Administrative Director. Fr Gianni Filippin remains as National Director.

The new appointment is a sign of continuity and "will help bring stability to the system of vocational training (...). Our training centres are a service for those who leave school early. They have a great ability to re-motivate young people to study, "stated the new Director General.

Even 200 years after the birth of Don Bosco the relationship with the business world remains an essential link in the work of teachers and instructors.  CNOS-FAP is organizing a series of meetings at EXPO with some of the companies they have been working with for some time. This will give them a space where they can tell some of their success stories in creating employment and also speak of new projects for the future.

From 14 to 18 September, in Casa Don Bosco, there will be a full series of meetings with Apple, Bosch, Iren, Meusburger, Monster, Rekordata, 3DZ Group and other companies along with political representatives. On the final day there will be a lively group of young people who have taken part in the competition "You choose the future of the planet".  This is also the title of the final panel discussion.

"For us Salesians the workshop is at the core of the training we offer. The students learn by doing! This is why in our work as educators the contribution and collaboration with companies are essential”, says Fr Peretti. Our effort in terms of relationships and agreements with the world of production is impressive and consistent."
