(ANS – Quito) –On August 24^th, a Eucharist was celebrated for the installation of Fr. Salvador Delgadillo Cornejo, as the new Director of the Regional Salesian Centre of Permanent Formation (CSRFP). Before the beginning of the mass, there was the presentation of three evocative symbols: the burning Easter candle, the Constitutions and the Memories of the Oratory of St. Francis de Sales. The congregation started singing the CSRFP hymn, composed by Fr. Fernando Peraza, SDB.

Fr. Jorge Molina, Provincial of ECU, began the Eucharist saying, “Let us thank God for the journey that has been made and let us remember what our dear Fr. Fernando Peraza used to say: ‘This centre started with a small table and a typewriter’. Since he was the ever-dreaming soul of the centre, he succeeded in making other people benefit from the courses and also from the spirit and relations among the lay people of the Salesian Family… I seize the opportunity, as Province, to thank God for the presence of the Centre here in Ecuador”. I also thank Fr. Javier Altamirano for his hard and good work during his mandate as Director. As a sign of welcome, the Provincial clothed Fr. Salvador Delgadillo with a chasuble and the congregation prayed for the new ministry he is going to commence.

Fr. Segundo Torres read the message sent to the new director by Fr. Timothy Ploch, Regional Councillor for Interamerica, also on behalf of Fr. Natale Vitali, Regional Councillor for America South Cone, “I thank you for the availability you showed this year accepting the appointment as Director of the Regional Salesian Centre of Permanent Formation (CSRFP); I wish to confirm your appointment as director, with the ratification of the Provinces of the two regions, and after the dialogue with you and the competent General Councillors. The Rector Major, in conformity with article 151 of our General Regulations, decreed that you assume the governance of CRSFP for a period of three years. I wish you and all the centre a fruitful celebration of the birth of our dear father and founder Don Bosco”.

The installation ceremony was concluded by Fr. Guillermo Basañes, Councillor for the Missions, who said, “My presence on this day is a sign of the closeness and affection of the Rector Major and in particular of the two Regional Councillors who are involved in this centre”. Soon afterwards, Fr. Basañes, gave to Fr. Salvador a painting with the logo of the Bicentenary made by a Polish artist, on behalf of Ángel Fernández Artime, in memory of the Bicentenary of Don Bosco.
