(ANS – Lima) – Walk with Don Bosco in one Family was the trend of the unusually sunny afternoon of Lima which accompanied the journey of the various Delegations of the Salesian family, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, of the Daughters of Charity of Jesus and of various associations and groups founded within Don Bosco’s charism.
The youth of the various groups gathered at the rhythm of music, performances and cheerfulness and walked in the central lane of “Avenida Brasil”. Among them there were the groups of the Salesian Youth Movement coming from Chosica, Rímac, Breña and from other districts and quarters of Lima. The students of the colleges of the Salesians and of the FMAs in Lima, Magdalena and Callao, were also present. They were duly organized, dressed with the polo shirts of the Bicentenary of Don Bosco’s birth.
The mayors of Magdalena del Mar, Mr. Francis Allison and of Breña, Mr. Ángel Wu, participated in a meaningful and close way in this expression of love and respect for life, for the family and for the Bicentenary of Don Bosco’s birth.
More than 15 thousand people took part in the event “Walk with Don Bosco in One Family”, in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and cheerfulness aiming at expressing the significance of the family.
Fr. Timothy Ploch, SDB, Regional Councillor for Interamerica, who will visit various Salesian houses in Peru, concluded the event with the blessing of Mary Help of Christians, which was followed by fireworks.
Now remains the commitment of living with intensity the three magic expressions that help safeguard the atmosphere of the whole family: “Thank You… May I… Pardon Me…”.
