(ANS – Bratislava) – Every salesian province in the world had in last couple of years the amazing opportunity to welcome the relicts of saint founder of Salesian family, Don Bosco. Slovakia experienced this visit during April 2013. Two years later, in the year of 200th anniversary of birth of Don Bosco, Slovak province introduces to the Salesian Family a very special book about the pilgrimage of the casket in the country.

Back then, Salesians had the idea to capture these precious moments. That is why a professional photographer Vladimír Škuta followed the casket on its 20 days long journey in the country. Alongside, at all stops of the journey was present a chronicle in which anyone could write his or hers prayers, thanks and pleas. The profoundness of the photographs and the sincerity of the prayers astonished those who came across them. Then an idea came up: to create a book that would consist of excerpts from the chronicle and the photographs.

After several months of preparation the book is finally printed. The publication “Dotkol sa nás – Don Bosco medzi nami” – “He touched us – Don Bosco among us” consist of more than 150 photographs and hundreds of stories and prayers which were written in the chronicle by more than 80 000 visitors of Don Bosco's casket. They were carefully chosen by Fr. Marián Husár SDB. It is not only contribution to ongoing celebrations of bicentenary of don Bosco but also a testimony of relationship of Slovak salesian family with the saint.
