(ANS - Milan) - After the novelty of the three days dedicated to Project Gelato at CASA DON BOSCO, the Salesian Family switched its attention to another initiative "We promote sport" featuring several professional athletes. Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, SDB, also visited CASA DON BOSCO and spoke about the importance of investing in young people.
In recent days the exhibition L'Afrique c'est chic was on display, accompanied by "Over the Rainbow", the work of the artist Valerio Berruti from Johannesburg, South Africa. On Tuesday 26 May, attention turned to sport with the presentation of "Youth, Sport & Solidarity - 24 hours of sport", an event to be held in Cuneo on 13-14 June. 1,700 athletes and 15,000 spectators are expected and 150 volunteers will be working to make it a major event in keeping with the charism of the Salesian Family.
The coming days will include various topics related to the world of education and youth. From 5.30 to 7.00 p.m. on Friday 29 May at CASA DON BOSCO there will be an opportunity to taste the homemade ice cream prepared by the students of the training programme run by the Italian Centre for Salesian Feminine Works (CIOFS) of Piedmont in collaboration with Gelatitalia. This is part of the Giornata del latte (Milk Day) being run at the invitation of the Minister for Agricultural Policies, Maurizio Martina.
The month of May at CASA DON BOSCO will end with a macro event that will continue into June. It is called "the Nourishment of Life" and is being organized in partnership with STARLEX and CIOFS Scuola FMA. It aims to explore the varied world of education through the presentation of educational and cultural activities carried on in school and out of school, through study, games and sport. In recent days, Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, SDB, visited CASA DON BOSCO. In a video interview he said, "Don Bosco said that investing in young people is the best thing we can do for the future of all young people," and he continued, "My hope is that much good will radiate from CASA DON BOSCO during this Expo."
