(ANS - Piła) - On May 16, in the parish of St. John Bosco and the Salesian Schools in Piła the altered Feast of St. Adalberto the patron of the Province (PLN) was celebrated to coincide with the closing day of the Extraordinary Visitation by Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Councillor for the North Europe Region.

Along with the Provincial level feast and the conclusion of the Extraordinary Visitation by Fr Rozmus, anniversaries were also celebrated: 35 years of the province of PLN; the name day of Fr Marek Chmielewski the provincial of Piła and the silver, golden and diamond jubilees of the religious profession and ordination of various Salesians, in the context of the Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco.

The participants in the event included: the Provincial Council, the heads of religious communities and the delegates from various Salesian presences: Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, students and young people from the educational centers.

The festival began in the hall of the school with the accompaniment of joyful music and singing. Then all the Rectors of the Salesian communities and members of the provincial council gathered to conclude the Extraordinary Visitation with the Visitor. In the meanwhile, the other participants in the festival were able to assist at the theatricals prepared by the students of the Salesian schools of Bydgoszcz.

There followed the concert choir by the Salesian schools in Piła. The Salesians went to pray at the municipal cemetery, where the first provincial of Piła, Fr Henryk Jacenciuk is buried. Later, in the church of St. John Bosco, a solemn Mass was celebrated, presided by Fr. Rozmus.

During the Eucharist, the Salesians celebrating the anniversaries of their religious profession and ordination were felicitated. The Councillor presented the prestigious award "Salesians Merentibus" to Mrs. Helena Jankowska, who in recent years has been a member of the general council of the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The provincial of Pila was also felicitated on his name feast.
