(ANS - Lima) - The Salesian Family in Peru is united in a solidarity campaign on behalf of the Salesians and the population of the area of Chosica. The people there are going through a difficult situation as a result of an avalanche of mud and rocks that caused death and destruction. The government has declared a state of emergency in the area. It has started cleaning and mobilized the first help for the victims.
The Don Bosco Foundation in Peru is organizing a campaign of aid to the people affected by the natural disaster, collecting blankets, food, mattresses and whatever is given by people of good will. Donations are received at Av. Brasil 218 - Brena. For more information, call +51 3322555.
Meanwhile, the Salesian Youth Movement in Rimac and Brena have organized a solidarity campaign with the aim of bringing the proceeds to the Don Bosco Church in Chosica. It was heavily damaged and many of the faithful and people of the parish have lost everything due to the rain and huge masses of mud and fallen rocks.
Donations will be received at the Mary Help of Christians Parish, located at Av. Brasil 218, Brena; and at the Don Bosco Oratory located in Madera Jr. 401, Rimac.
