(ANS - Lima) -  The exhibition "Celebratio Vitae" (celebration of life) was inaugurated on Wednesday 29 October at the Don Bosco Art Gallery to celebrate the value of life in all its diversity and to mark the Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco. The exhibition brings together the works of renowned visual artists and several members of the "Artesanos de Don Bosco." The exhibition is open until 8 November at the Salesian Institute in the district of Brena in Lima.

On the opening day an address of welcome was given by Fr Vicente Santilli, SDB, Director of the Salesian Institute which hosted the event. He highlighted the experience of Don Bosco as a promoter of art and culture in the service of young people. In turn, the curator of the work, the art historian and critic Rosa Maria Vargas, expressed her joy at having accepted the challenge of this exhibition in honour of Don Bosco. She expressed her thanks also for the use of the gallery where national and international artists are preforming, including several past pupils of Don Bosco.

The gallery displays works of the following artists: Charo Noriega, Lennin Vásquez, Germán Chinen, Iván Hueto, Emilio Guzman Huanca , Ricardo Diaz, Paul Beraun, Augusto Díaz, Adoni Altamirano, Walter Anicama, Joseph de Utia, Ana Margarita Manzo, Elsa Saravia, Rosario Córdova, Rodolfo Bragagnini, Aldo Bonilla, Aldo Bonilla Di Tolla, Juan Bautista, Carmen Callegari, Victoria Gonzales and Berta Lavado.
