(ANS - Madrid) – Yesterday 30 October the magazine Magisterio gave its  2014 Awards for Outstanding Participants in Education. The Salesian Congregation was among the winners.

As the organizers say: "The Salesian Congregation was awarded the Special Prize for Education for its work over 150 years teaching all over the world." This marks the bicentenary of the birth of St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesians and "a model of education still fully relevant in the twenty-first century."

The award ceremony took place at 7.30 p.m. yesterday 30 October in the CaixaForum auditorium in Madrid.  Awards were given at the same time to other educational institutions such as the Educo Foundation, the British Ministry of Education, the Vaughan Group, the Department of Education of Castilla-La Mancha, and the International University of La Rioja.

The magazine Magisterium is a point of reference for publications on education in Spain. It started business in 1867 becoming the dean of daily newspapers in the country. It produces several publications for teachers and students and for parents with school-age children.
