(ANS -Bogota)- From 26 September to 4 October, at the initiative of the St. Peter Claver Province, Colombia-Bogota, the 30th Salesian Art Festival took place. It was open to the whole Salesian Family and attended by about 2,700 young artists from the various houses around the country.
This year we celebrated the30th anniversary of the Festival, which caters for a number of arts: theatre, music, dance, visual arts, literature ... in different forms and categories.
For a wholeweek there was aSalesian environment of celebration and art, not to mention the areas of formation and evangelization, through workshops called Evangeliz-artand art-form, which helped the young people to understand the theme of Salesian youth spirituality through art.
To celebrate the anniversary, tribute was paid to the initiators of FAS: the Salesian Youth Movement, and in particular, Fr José Raúl Rojas Bohórquez, SDB, who is still the Director of the Festival.
Theweek ended with the award ceremony on Saturday 4 October, and a commitment to continue to promote art as a favoured Salesian way for the formation of good Christians and honest citizens. The next goal now is to prepare an even better Salesian Art Festival for 2015, to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco.
