(ANS - Rome) - A few days after the apostolic visit of Pope Francis to the Land of the Eagles, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians, is also visiting Albania. The Tenth Successor of Don Bosco landed in Tirana this morning, 1 October. He will also visit the Salesians in Kosovo, before returning to Rome on 5 October.
The purpose of the Rector Major’s visit is to boost and support the Salesians in the territories of Albania and Kosovo, on the occasion of this year's Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco. .
Today the Rector Major and head of the international Salesian Family is meeting the Salesians, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and members of the educative-pastoral community in Tirana, to talk to them in a frank and fraternal spirit.
Tomorrow, the Rector Major will go to Kosovo, visiting Gjilan in the morning and Pristina in the afternoon. In the morning he will meet the young people and their educators, while the highlight of the afternoon will be Mass in the Cathedral of Pristina.
On Friday 3 October, Fr Angel will meet the Mayor and the Bishop of Pristina, before opening a new gym. In the afternoon he will speak to the Salesian Cooperators and then leave for Scutari.
Saturday will be a day of large meetings: the Rector Major will meet with the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement and the Salesian Family.
Finally, on Sunday, after a quick visit to the FMA house at Tale in Albania, the Rector Major will return to Italy.
