(ANS - San Paolo) - The Educar/educador fair run byBett (British Education Training and Tecnology) took place in São Paulo from 21 to 24 May. The Salesian publisher Edebé-Brazil took part, publicizing their innovative approaches to digital education, such as the digital educational materials used in the  Network of Salesian Schools (RSE).

Cynthia Bagatin Lapa, editorial director of Edebé-Brazil said: "We showed the significance of Edebé, a publisher that started with digital material, and which offers a complete solution for schools: a platform for academic management and teaching, online training for teachers and digital learning materials  consisting of an interactive digital book and notebook.”

The Edebé stand at the fair presented everything in a virtual way. "We have shown how technological resources can be used by the school, regardless of the chosen medium (TV, notebook, tablet ... )" Ms Bagatin Lapa added. Various brands of tablet were at the disposal of the public to enable them to navigate through the available resources. Qualified staff were at hand on all four days, helping visitors to get to know the academic and pedagogical uses of the materials for digital learning and introducing them to details of the project.

In the main Arena of Bett 2014, Edebé-Brazil also participated in the Learn Live programme in which the Editorial Director spoke about the Salesian Publisher and its integrated educational project in Brazil.

Edebé-Brazil was officially launched on 21 November2013. It is the result of four years’ work, carried out in collaboration between the SalesianNetwork of Brazil and Edebé-Spainfrom Barcelona.

The first projects of Edebé-Brazil were produced for the RSE. They set up the platform of academic management called Esemtia to facilitate the work of managers and to integrate the Salesian educative and pastoral communities. They produced materials for digital learning which are being distributed gradually, starting this year. The materials are easy to navigate intuitively. They make use of different languages and encourage collaborative study.

The materials for digital learning consist of an interactive instructional book and notebook. "These permit the user to access information in real time, highlighting the most important issues of the moment in each discipline. It is interactive material that starts from the situation to which the students are accustomed," said Ms Bagatin Lapa.

The materials are becoming gradually more widespread in the RSE. There have already been 65,000 downloads of digital books by educators and students. "Today the project has more than 12,000 students and 2,642 teachers, administrators and managers who use the material," added Edevaldo Gaudencio, coordinator of the Information and Technology sector of the RSE.
