(ANS – Rome) Yesterday, 18 February, with the consent of his Council, the Rector Major, Fr Pascual Chavez Villanueva appointed Fr Honorio Caucamán as Provincial of the Blessed Zephyrinus Namuncurá Province of Southern Argentina. Fr Caucamán will lead and govern the province for the six-year period from 2014 to 2019.

Honorio Segundo Caucamán was born on 14 January 1963 in Paso del Sapo, Esquel in Chubut. He did his novitiate in La Plata in 1984, made ​​his first profession as a Salesian on 31 January 1985 and his perpetual profession on 1 December 1990. He was ordained priest in Trelew, Chubut on 22 April 1995 .

In his 51 years of life, Fr Caucamán has served the congregation in the communities of Bahia Blanca, Comodoro Rivadavia, Fortin Mercedes, Trelew and Junín de los Andes where he is currently Rector.
 

Fr Caucamán has been Provincial Councillor and Delegate for Formation and is currently Delegate for the Missionary Animation of the Province. He is a teacher of Philosophy and Education and holds a degree in Theology .
