The purpose of the meeting is to examine the current situation of Salesian Formation at world level, seen both as a dimension, and as a fundamental commitment of the Salesian Congregation with regard to the Church, youth and the Salesian Family.
Among those taking part: Fr Francesco Cereda, General Councillor for Formation, with Fr Chrys Saldanha and Fr Horacio López members of the Department; Fr Gianni Rolandi, for the Africa-Madagascar Region; Fr Luis Timossi (CISUR) and Fr Fabio José de Farias (CISBRASIL) for the Latin America –South Cone Region; Fr Francis Gustilo for East Asia -Oceania; Fr José Kuttianimattathil, for South Asia; Fr Zenon Klawikowski, for North Europe; Fr Francisco Santos for West Europe; Fr Jaime Morales, for Interamerica; Fr Guido Errico, for Italy-Middle East and Fr Javier Altamirano, Director of the Regional Centre for Salesian Formation in Quito, together with Fr Julio Olarte, Fr Fernando Peraza and Fr José do Nascimento from the Team of the Regional Centre.
This meeting follows on from a series of previous meetings aimed at strengthening Salesian formation making it more dynamic and committed to responding to the demands of the times, faithful to the Salesian charism and to the Church of today and the needs of the young. It is also intended to provide guidelines for both initial and ongoing formation throughout the Salesian Congregation.
