(ANS – Madrid) – On Friday 19 November, with the presentation of certificates the formation process for 47 senior staff members of Salesian schools in Spain came to an end. Having begun the course in March, they received the award of “University Qualification in the Direction of Schools” from the International University of la Rioja (UNIR).

In a simple Academic Ceremony the newly qualified were accompanied by those who were beginning a new course, by the Rectors and Superiors of the Schools of the Salesians and of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the Provinces of Leon and of Madrid, the respective Provincials and the Rector of the UNIR.

In his adddress entitled “Educating in difficult times” the Councillor for the West Europe Region Fr José Miguel Núñez Moreno spoke about the socio-cultural and political situation and the role of the Salesian school.

Th presentation of certificates and commemorative badges marked for some the end of the course and for others the beginning. The second course which will end in October 2011 is being followed by 51 senior staff from 10 Salesian and FMA Provinces in Spain
