Italy – Salesians on practical training discuss evangelisation and Europe |
Italy – Advisory Committee Meeting for Salesian spiritual accompaniment |
Poland – Meeting of the Formation Delegates of Europe |
This meeting was for Delegates from the East Asia and Oceania Region. Fifty Delegates took part and were led by Don Francesco Cereda, General Councillor for Formation, Fr Fabio Attard, General Councillor for Youth Ministry and Fr Andrew Wong, Regional Councillor for East Asia and Oceania.
Arrangements for the meeting were completely in the hands of the Chinese Province (CIN). They were coordinated by Fr Anthony Leung, Youth Ministry Delegate for China, together with members of the Salesian Youth Movement. This seventh meeting was part of a series studying the third theme of the twenty sixth General Chapter (GC26), dealing with the ‘Need for Vocation Ministry’.
The Delegates arrived well prepared for the meeting and had already come up with questions to put to the assembly: “How can we enliven vocations awareness at local and Province level? What are the changes needed in vocation ministry in the light of the central idea of the third GC26 theme and regarding ‘our witness as the first invitation to a vocation’ and ‘apostolic vocation’?”.
And again: “What have the Provinces found when accompanying candidates for consecrated Salesian life? What changes are necessary in the care of candidates and aspirants, in the light of the third theme of GC26 and regarding ‘the accompaniment of candidates for consecrated Salesian life’ and ‘the two forms of consecrated Salesian vocation?”.
Each question was presented with appropriate analysis and each was answered with proposals for a solution. In general the accent was placed on the witness of every Salesian and the continual revision of activities to enable a clear presentation and illustration of the meaning of vocational commitment.
