(ANS – Rome) – Starting from 1 July, on the donbosco-humanrights platform it will be possible to follow a new online course, “easy-learning” on the subject  “Educating for Human Rights”. The course, which is free, will be available in three languages: Italian, English and Spanish.

Organised by the Youth Ministry Department and “International Volunteers for Development (VIS) as an ongoing formation opportunity, the course is a response to the invitation of the Rector Major of the Salesians, with his Strenna  for 2008, for education to human rights.

The course is addressed mainly to formal and informal educators working with children and teenagers and to people with an interest in training in the area of education to and for human rights.

The aim is to help those involved to be able to make a valid educational contribution through an updating of their knowledge about educational techniques and the psychology of education regarding values, human development especially in the field of human rights and education to personal and social responsibility for social justice and solidarity.

The on-line method of formation with a self-taught approach enables the students to follow the course wherever they are, at their own pace making use of the section E-LEARNING on the www.donbosco-humanrights.org site. There are eight modules dealing with topics connected with human rights.
