Creativity and sensitivity were the features of the 2009 event, which had 7 videoclip entries in the final. The Public Prize went to “Independance Game”, a animated short telling the story of a young person hooked on videogames, while the Jury Prize went to “Sous l’ombre de la réalité” (Under the shadow of reality), the story of a young couple in danger of splitting up because of blogs.
The purpose of “Festiclip” is to involve young people in making videos aimed at other young people. The ”Atelier multimédia” also chooses two or three of the videos presented in the Festival and retouching them re-presents them to a professional standard.
The videoclips, which are later put into the D’Clic collection where they are available and can be downloaded from the net, on the average are seven minutes long and can be used as a starter for reflection or discussion in a group or in class.
In preparation for the 5th “Festiclip” in 2010, the ”Atelier multimédia” will open up entries also to schools. It is probable that there will be an entry from Slovakia.
Those responsible for the ”Atelier multimédia” are certain that making videoclips on educational topics is a sound strategy for involving the young and adults in a process of reflection on important subjects and encourages dialogue and understanding between the generations.
