Brazil – The Municipal Chamber of Araçatuba pays tribute to the Salesian University on the opening of a veterinary hospital |
(ANS - Brasilia) - The Ministry of Education (MEC) of Brazil has published the results of the assessment of higher education institutions across the country for the year 2014. The ranking includes universities, faculties and federal institutions and university centres, evaluated with respect to courses from the areas of the human and biological sciences. The Salesian Catholic University Centre Auxilium - better known as "Unisalesiano" - was rated among the best universities in Brazil.
To be awarded the grade of "Excellence" an institution must receive between 4 and 5 points (on a scale of 1 to 5) in the assessment of the Index General Course (ICG). Unisalesiano, with its two centres at Aracatuba and Lins, received a vote of 4, equal to an assessment of "very good". The ICG analyzes the courses in the three previous years and the Salesian University centre had 21 courses analysed.
The Rector of Unisalesiano, Father Luigi Favero, considered that ranking in a very positive way. "It is a great achievement! The highest score of any university in the region of Araçatuba! The University and I, as its Rector, are are happy for this achievement and recognition. A real gift for Christmas and the New Year" he said.
The magazine Exame published the list of the centres of higher education on its website at the end of last December.
