Argentina – We communicate what we are: signs of God’s love |
Mexico – Serving the Salesian mission together through communications |
(ANS – Bariloche) – As part of the programme undertaken by the two American regions in the Social Communication sector, following what was done in Colombia 2010, Brazil 2011 and Mexico 2012, thirty-two people met at Bariloche, Provincial Delegates for Communication together with the members of the communication teams of the two provinces of Argentina.
At the beginning of the meeting the participants shared on progress made in the various provinces in the four areas of the Salesian Social Communication System (SSCS): Animation, Formation, Information and Production.
During Mass, Fr Filiberto González, Councillor for Social Communication, emphasized that, not only is it important to know what means of communication we have at our disposal, but “it is necessary to know that we are communicating something greater which is our personal and community experience of Jesus Christ.” He added that it is necessary “to communicate in an authentic manner what we are, without trying to give a false image of ourselves.”
The meeting began on Sunday 15 September and will go on until Saturday 21. The aim of the meeting is to draw up a formation programme for Salesians, on the basis of what has been achieved in the various provinces. This programme will be not only for initial formation but for the ongoing formation of Salesians and lay people who work for the Salesian mission in the communication sector.
