(ANS - Santiago) – More than 200 young people from the different Salesian Houses of Chile have confirmed that they will take part in World Youth Day. It is expected that about 3 million young people from all over the world will gather around Pope Francis. The Salesian Youth Movement is preparing for the event with several initiatives.
According to Cristian Riffo, Provincial Secretary for Youth Ministry, the preparations have now reached the concluding stages.
The journeys to and from Brazil will vary for the different groups. They travel on different dates and by different means. Some young people, from Iquique e La Serena, will travel by coach for several days, while others will go by air.
However, the Salesian participants from Chile will form one large delegation. The large number of young people will be accompanied by Salesians and lay people. Among the Salesians will be the Provincial Fr Albert Lorenzelli, the Delegate for Youth Ministry, Fr Charles Lira, e the secretary, Cristian Riffo.
