(ANS – Plock) – From 30 April to 6 May, 160 young animators from 12 Salesian Oratories, gathered at Plock to take part in a six-monthly meeting of animators from the Province of Warsaw. Through these meetings, the animators get to know each other better, to share experiences and, above all, to strengthen their personal faith.

For some years now the Province of Warsaw, through its Vocations Centre and Emmaus Youth Ministry, has been developing a formation programme specifically for oratory leaders. The programme consists of meetings every six months plus a longer and more concentrated experience during the summer holidays, the so-called “School for Oratory Animators”. 

The meeting at Plock was on the theme of building relationships, and was focused on the mystery of the Divine Mercy. It was at Plock, on 22 February 1931, that St Faustina Kowalska had the first apparitions of Jesus of Mercy, who entrusted to her the mission of painting the picture with the inscription “Jesus, I trust in you.” 

The Director of the Plock Oratory, Fr Dariusz Machniak, organized the meeting together with the local animators. The programme included times of prayer- adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Confessions and Mass – plus talks on marriage, parenthood, and priestly and religious vocations.

In the course of the four days there was also plenty of time for games, dancing, song and sport – all means of getting to know each other. The enthusiasm of the young people throughout the entire meeting was a witness to the youthfulness of the Church for the people of Plock.
