(ANS – Santiago) – According to a list published on 3 January by the “La Tercera” Daily, amongst the 30 best private schools in the country, the Salesian school in Concepción and the “Patrocinio de San José” in Santiago rank with the best.
The ranking was made on the basis of average points scored in University selection tests. Each school is given points: the Concepción school gained 631.4 points, coming seventh; the “Patrocinio de San José” in Santiago came thirtieth with 610.3 points. The top school in the ranking, the “Josefino Stma. Trinidad” in Providencia, gained 660.2 points.
The Salesian school in Concepción has improved in its ranking, given that the previous year, using the same indicators, it was in 20th place. This is due to 12 point growth.
According to another ranking published in “El Sur” the following day, Friday 4 January, from a regional perspective the Concepción school was listed in third place amongst the best private, non-State schools. This newspaper indicated that the highest score obtained went to a student from the Salesian school, (Joaquin Gonzalez, with 794.5) putting him on the highest score for any applicant to the University from all schools.
The Concepción school also saw 20 of its students gain at least 700 points in Maths and Languages; Joaquín González and Cristóbal Bravo were shown to have gained 818 points respectively in Maths and History.
