(ANS – Santiago) – Don Bosco Foundation is one of many fruits of the Salesian charism in Chile. It deals with the human growth of people who are in situations of hardship and social exclusion, through educational programmes developed according to the Salesian perspective. A television program reported in recent days, the story of a woman helped by the Foundation.

Four years ago, Rose Queipul, a forty-year-old lady of Santiago, lived together with her two sons in a car abandoned in the city centre. In her life she had experienced neglect, poverty, abuse and life on the street. One day by chance she met professionals using the programme, "Street Adults", of the Don Bosco Foundation and since then her life has profoundly changed, so much so that today she self-employed in the field of gastronomy and runs a lodging house.

The operators of the Foundation, in fact, turned immediately toward welfare networks, helping people to get off the street offering a solution for tenancy and also convinced it to develop training in the field of gastronomy.

As a result of the training course for women came a proposal for work: a food supply service to several people. Soon Mrs. Queipul could afford buying an oven, which brought some economic stability. So she could take one home for rental - with an option to buy – where she now offers lodging facilities and also offers a space for people who are experiencing situations of difficulty.

On September 20th, Mrs. Queipul was invited as a guest of the programme with the title, "Si se puede", on Chile television, where she was interviewed by the presenters, Eva Gómez and Jordi Castell. At the same time, in addition to telling its story and giving credit to the work of the Foundation, it has become the face of the new campaign of the Don Bosco Foundation, "use your Superpower, the power to help".
