(ANS – San Salvador) – Five projects of the “Saint Cecilia” Salesian Institute in San Salvador won the competition “Joven Ingenio” 2012, organised by the National Youth Institute (INJUVE). The winners in the computer and English series received their awards on 18 August.
Joven Ingenio 2012 is a national competition supported by the Association for Development in Education, Health, the Environment and the Infrastructures of El Salvador (ALDESAI), and is part of the III National Fair for Opportunities (Juventour 2012) aimed at rewarding projects and ideas with business potential and encouraging young people to develop their business skills.
There are two main sectors: Innova Joven and Innova Verde, covering the age group 15 to 29 years of age. Five projects of the “Saint Cecilia” Institute reached the finals in the computer and English categories of Innova Joven, on the same day that in the school they were keeping Youth Week.
As part of Juventour 2012, ALDESAI there are talks and contributions offered to the students. Among these should be mentioned “Young People and Technology”, by the Past Pupil Hector Maida, who has contributed to the development of computerisation in El Salvador and at present is the CEO of “Internet Creativos”.
On 18 August each of the projects was assessed by various people from the worlds of marketing and technology and representatives of the Organisation of American States. In the evening at the Theatre of the International Centre for Fairs and Congresses (CIFCO) the prizes were distributed for the winning projects; among these were all five of the projects of the Salesian Institute.
