(ANS – Resistencia) – To celebrate the 70 years of the Don Bosco Institute in Resistencia, on 8 December a museum was opened, together with the “Juan Moisés Vizcarra” square, the cine-theatre recently restructured and a new lift, all in the course of an official ceremony which ended with a performance by the Polyphonic Choir.
The celebrations had begun with Mass in the parish of Mary Help of Christians. This was followed by the opening ceremony for the “Juan Moisés Vizcarra” Square –named after a teacher at the school – a commemorative plaque of whom was unveiled by Fr Eduardo Jorge SDB. At the event were the Director, Antonio Pedone, a Salesian past pupil; Hon. Elda Pertile; the Economic Undersecretary of the local authority, Alejandro Abraam; the Secretary General, Mónica Núñez; representatives of Mayor Aida Ayala, members of the Committee and a large number of the faithful.
Afterwards inside the Institute, the guests assisted at the cutting of the ribbon of the new lift connecting the ground floor with the Aula Magna.
The official ceremony declared by the Mayor a formally official local event began with the entrance of the flag, the singing of the National Anthem and some speeches and the unveiling of pictures of some of the founders.
Then everyone enjoyed a concert by the Polyphonic Choir under their Director Dr Muscar.
