Last year at this the most important Educational Exhibition in Spain, 315 educational institutions were represented and there were over 115,000 visitors, most of them young people deciding where to go for their higher education, their parents and careers guidance officers.
The Stand of the Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians contained ample information about what was on offer at the Technical Vocational Training Centres, with courses in electronics, computer studies, the graphic arts, audiovisual production... Their strong-points were also emphasised: their good relationships with the world of work, the modern uptodate premises and equipment, the attention given to the development of sound learning processes in a context where the student is always the protagonist.
There was also information about the university courses available at the CES Don Bosco, an FMA centre affiliated to the Complutense University of Madrid, with new specialised courses in Infant and Primary School Teaching, Pedagogy and Social Education. CES students were on hand together with staff members and FMA to give further explanations where required about the form they take and the professional vision behind them
The Salesian Stand also had information about the other activities promoted by the centres in the area of Voluntary Service, such as the Censa School for Free Time and other socio-educational programmes.
During the days of the “Aula 2011”, to attract the younger members of the public the Salesian Stand also put on various activities such as work-shops in hairdressing, creative balloon designs and other handicrafts.
