The campaign is based on the distribution of an informative handbook which will show the Salesians-Cooperators what the main opportunities are for them to be involved – offering family accommodation, various forms of voluntary service and financial support – and them each member to offer their services to the local teams working for WYD.
The booklet is accompanied by a letter from the Provincial Coordinator, Javier Félix Ajo, providing a short reflection in which he suggests that collaborating in the organisation of the WYD is a practical expression of being of service to the young which is the essence of the vocation of a Salesian-Cooperator.
In the letter ha says that “we ought to think of the cumulative effect of such an event, not only for our Salesian Youth Movement, but on the much larger scale of the Church. The experience of thousands of young people during these days will be an opportunity for spreading the faith and we should be very mush part of that.”
In the same way the Provincial Newsletter of the Salesians-Cooperators, is publishing each moth articles, news items and announcements regarding the World Youth Days a unique event taking place in Madrid in August.
In this way the Salesians-Cooperators are following up the campaign for voluntary service and accommodation launched last December by the Central Organising Committee of the Salesian Youth Movement encouraging the participation of the members of the Association in the Province.
