Italy – The SYM Europe “Small Team” at work |
.On the first day Saturday 6, they considered the poster produced by the SYM for WYD 2011 which gives a Salesian view of the motto proposed by Benedict XVI, and listened to the experiences of some young people who had taken part in previous WYD. In the afternoon they spoke about their own motives and also about the appeals which were being made in all the Provinces in Spain.
It was also announced that the Salesian Youth Movement will be giving special coverage of the event through its site and on other social networks. The day ended with Mass.
On Sunday a number of ideas were presented and discussed regarding activities for 17 August 2011, the day on which the SYM members who will be taking part in the WYD will get together. Some concerned the meeting of the SYM members with the representatives from all over the world who will be in Madrid in those days; others regarded the final celebration. In addition various reports were examined from European Secretariat of the SYM - the so-called “Small Team” – ands also team work with members of the SYM in other European countries.
A new initiative noted is a competition for a new logo for the SYM in Spain, aimed at identifying the Movement, starting from the WYD 2011.
The National Assembly proved to be a useful and successful meeting held in a calm atmosphere with the aim of inviting the young people to become the protagonists at a very important occasion which will show the world that there a many young people who are profoundly “Planted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith.”
