The meeting could be considered a new phase in the process of transmitting the faith and the training of Leaders in the St Francis Xavier Province of Spain-Bilbao (SBI).
The weekend was the right place to present what the Province had arranged for the transmission of the faith in the Adolescent-Youth stage. It is an approach based on the “Missionary” option, in which witness, personal experience and personal accompaniment become the watch-words for the work of the Leader.
The event was also an opportunity to show the new style of training that has been adopted, which gives priority, over other things, to the aspects of experience of the faith. Along these lines Brother Abel Martín Domínguez SDB opened the meeting with a moment of reflection and observation: recognising the beauty which surrounds each one of us and through that coming to God who reveals himself to us in the beauty of an unconditional love.
In the afternoon Fr José Luis Villota and Fr Xabier Camino indicated the ways of “transmitting the faith” in line with the new approach and organised group activities which the Leaders will later use in their own communities. Sunday was devoted to sharing personal experiences of the faith and to individual discernment, and ended with Mass in the “Mary Help of Christians” house in Santander.
