RMG – Presentation of the “Project for Europe” |
This was in line with the “Project for Europe”, promoted by the Rector Major and his Council after the 26th General Chapter and helped to highlight the importance of Salesian Vocational Training in the Old Continent.
The programme, directed by Fr Ángel Miranda, Secretary General of “Don Bosco International”, concerned the Salesian centres in Sarriá (Barcellona Province), Zaragoza (Valencia Province), Pamplona and Deusto (Bilbao Province).
During the various meetings, issues looked at were a deeper understanding of the Spanish educational system, an approach to the new VT from the point of view of the skills involved, the experience of the “Don Bosco Prize” as an encouragement at international level of research and development for VT students, the specific care for youngsters in difficulty through VT and the organisation of the centres with management and development projects.
The visit, with a very full schedule, made it possible to examine the focus, the similarities and differences between the VT systems in Spain and Italy which share the ongoing commitment to improve more and more the Salesian identity of what they offered and the quality of the training provided which in their respective relations with industry enjoys a high reputation.
The practical conclusions from the journey will soon be available in the official magazine and on the web site of CNOS-FAP.
