Early in the afternoon, greeting those present, Fr Marco Biaggi the Provincial explained that the museum project had received the approval of the General Council. Afterwards, the Rector of the Provincial house community and archivist, Fr Mário Quilici, illustrated the historical significance and value of some of the relics important for the Congregation. Then the Provincial Economer Fr Adão Rodrigues, introduced Dr. Antonio Luís Tebaldi Castellano and Dr. Flávia Brito Garboggini, the architects responsible for the project, and the Academic Directors of the Don Bosco Catholic University and the Don Bosco, Museum o the Cultures of Campo Grande (MS), Dr. Aivone Carvalho, from the Department for Conservation and Research, and Dr Dulcília Silva, from the Department for Cultural Documentation and Publication.
The architect Flávia Brito explained to those present the ideas at the foundation of the future museum and its facilities. Fr Natale Vitali, Councillor for the America South Cone Region then blessed the buildings where the museum will be housed.
The museum excitingly modern in form and an ample pedagogical resource will facilitate the discovery of Salesian history and values within the evolving process of Brazilian society. The Museum of Salesian History in Brazil will be part of a network of Salesian museums to be found in various countries.
