Chile – Two Salesian schools amongst the best private institutions in the country |
Chile – Award for a Salesian Past Pupil |
The narratives in the book, published by EDEBÉ, were written by the young author in his last 2 years of study at the Salesian Institute. Encouraging Medel to undertake a writing career, were his teachers of literature who had discovered his writing ability one day in his school essay.
Cristián , actually a student of cinematography at the Università Maggiore in Santiago, had in 2006 already won the first prize, in the narratives category, in a competition promoted by “Caffé Letterario di Providencia” and organised in collaboration with the Centre for Pupils of El Patrocinio de San José.
Some professionals in the field of education have read and analysed the narratives and have held them as suitable for youth, recommending the book as required reading in the school programmes.
The book will be officially presented in the month of March.
