Spain –Xth Eurobosco comes to an end |
(ANS – Pamplona) – Today in Pamplona, Spain, the X Eurobosco, European Congress of Don Bosco Past Pupils opens, with the participation of over 200 representatives of 8 National Federations.
Also present at the Congress are Fr Adriano Bregolin, Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Filiberto Rodríguez, Councillor for the Region of West Europe and Fr Jeronimo Monteiro, World Delegate for the Past Pupils.
After the offical greetings by the local authorities, by the Provincial President and Chairman of the Organising Committee Mr. Josè Luis Gorosquieta, and Fr Feliz Urra Mendia, Provincial of the Salesians in Spain-Bilbao (SBI), the Confederal President, Dr. Francesco Muceo, offficially opens the Congress. Fr Bregolin will give a talk on the theme “The Past Pupils, co-responsible for Salesian education in Europe”, that will be followed by a discussion session in language groups. The first day will conclude with a visit to the city of Pamplona.
On the second day Prof. Josè Manuel Dominguez, will speak on the topic “In a Europe of ambiguity we present the values of life.” The day will include a visit to Javier, the birth place of Saint Francis Xavier, where Bishop Michele Asurmendi SDB, Bishop of Vitoria, will preside at Mass.
On 16 September the final day of Eurobosco, after the approval of the final resolutions, there will be a solemn celebration in the church of Mary Help of Christians in the Salesian Institute in Pamplona, at which the Archbishop Ferdinando Sebastian will preside.
