(ANS - Warsaw) - About 80 young people came together with one goal: to serve youth in the spirit of Don Bosco. The representatives of all the Salesian works and communities of the Warsaw Province are meeting in what could be called the first "Provincial Chapter of the young". Young people, from oratories, groups of altar servers, schools and pastoral groups, came together to learn to accompany young people on the path to holiness they have learned from Don Bosco.

"During the meeting we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit," says Agnieszka, a volunteer from the Salesian Mission Office in Warsaw. The meeting began with Mass and homily by the Vice-Provincial, Fr Przemyslaw Solarski. He said: "the Salesians and the young people who share the Salesian charism have to do everything with love. So it is important that all our works and activities are directed to Jesus."

During the meeting the issues discussed included educational initiatives undertaken by the Salesians, the formation plan and knowledge of the charism of Don Bosco. "We saw ourselves as a group of young people involved with Don Bosco,” said Małgorzata, a Salesian leader. We were able to talk and discuss openly the problems of our province and the focus on young people, the good things we do and our expectations and plans."

This first "Provincial Chapter of the young" is like a prelude to the preparation for the Provincial Chapter of the Salesians. "The opinion of young people is very important for us,” said Fr Przemyslaw Kawecki SDB, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry. And thanks to this Chapter of the young people, their voice is also coming to our Provincial Chapter."
